FACING DESKS is a place where Julie Cloutier and Alexis Petty have weekly visual conversations. Their dialogues offer, but are not limited too, random thoughts and progress images. This site provides a way for us to stay involved with each others work, as if we were sitting across from one another.

Julie is a San Francisco based artist and architectural designer. Her work responds to perceptual, spatial, and social disruptions, exposing altered relationships within the landscape of the everyday. She experiments with drawing through the use of letters, lines, and site-specific installations. She received her Master's degree in Architecture from California College of the Arts, and has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design from University of Colorado at Boulder. She's an Affiliate Artist at the Headlands Center for the Arts.
